Protests Continue After Trayvon Martin's Death

National Consciousness 1 of 11

April 2, 2012

On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin was shot to death by self-appointed neighborhood-watch captain George Zimmerman in the gated community of The Retreat at Twin Lakes in Sanford, Florida. Over the past month, the case has burst into national consciousness. Weeks after Trayvon's death, the protests and rallies continue. People want to make United States citizens aware of the stereotypes that still exist today.
