If you read any of the novels in Ann M. Martin's 'The Baby-Sitters Club' series as a kid, or watched the movie version in the 90s, you probably instantly fell in love with the characters. Kristy, Stacey, Claudia, and the rest of the gang were your childhood friends, filling up your imagination with tales of adventure and teenage life.
Even so, you probably were as frustrated as I was with every book's chapter-long dedication to descriptions of each character. Ann M. Martin (and her ghostwriter) loved to hammer every physical and personality trait into our heads, just in case we somehow forgot within the 90-or-so pages since she told us last.
Thus, we've developed a love/hate relationship with the series' characters, and if we're honest with ourselves, some of them would make downright terrible friends and roommates in real life. Imagine now, if you will, a world in which the members of the BSC have all made it through high school and have selected you as their college roommate. Sound like fun? You don't know the half of it!
