Pumpkin pie might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of aphrodisiac scents. However, researchers at the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago found that the smell of this traditional Thanksgiving dessert, combined with the aroma of lavender, increased penile blood flow by an amazing 40%! That's quite an achievement for this humble pie, which also increased women's sexual desire.
Pumpkin pie's aphrodisiac effects may partly come from its status as a comfort food and its association with good memories, but it could also be due to the cinnamon and vanilla in the mix, as both are known for their aphrodisiac qualities.
Whatever the reason, the next time you're hoping to get your man in the mood, you may want to head to the kitchen and start baking pie instead of drenching yourself in perfume.
