Tom Cruise, the highest-paid actor in the world and a blockbuster star, is also the world's most recognizable Scientologist. We all are acutely aware of his controversial stances on outlawing psychiatry and anti-depressive medication, but it hasn't always been this way.
Cruise enrolled in a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati at the age of 14. It wasn't until he met his first wife, Mimi Rogers, in 1990, that he was introduced to Scientology. He credits the Church of Scientology with curing his dyslexia through its teachings and providing him countless opportunities he wouldn't have otherwise had.
Cruise is believed to be at the advanced stage of OT (operating thetan) VII, after 30 years in the church. This means he has reached a rarefied state of enlightenment after travelling what is known as the Bridge to Total Freedom. With that enlightenment, he allegedly has the power to move inanimate objects with his mind, leave his body at will and telepathically control the behaviors of animals and human beings.
