What Old School Movies Should You See Before You Die?
Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) Slide 1 of 11
You may be shocked by what you find in the old "stuffy" films of the past.
For example, Audrey Hepburn took part in some activities in her films that may surprise you - attempted suicide in 'Sabrina,' going home with a man she didn't know in 'Roman Holiday,' etc. - but her behavior in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' is even more risqué!
First of all, though it is never explicitly discussed in the film, she was playing the role of a call girl. She also had drunken bachelors over to her apartment, slept in the nude, was arrested for connections to a drug ring, went to a strip club, and enjoyed a wild life of parties and booze.
Some other reasons to check out 'Breakfast at Tiffany's':
- Mickey Rooney's borderline racist portrayal of an Asian man
- Jed Clampett from 'The Beverly Hillbillies' as Holly's long lost love
- The iconic fashion, including the famous little black dress
- Hepburn's haunting performance of "Moon River" on the fire escape
