If you suffer an injury while running, it is best to take a break to make sure that you don't injure yourself further. It might be scary to think about the loss of conditioning due to cutting workouts, but think of how much you will have to miss if you really hurt something.

You can usually take about a week off before your fitness level begins to regress. In fact, sometimes a three or four day break can be good for your body because it lets your muscles heal from all of the punishment you have been putting them through.
