#12: Rorschach - "Pavlov's Dogs"
Toture at the hands of C.I.A. officials is an essential and hugely controversial part of the hunt for Osama bin Laden story of Oscar frontrunner 'Zero Dark Thirty.' In a terribly unsettling torture sequence, Kathryn Bigelow's film utilizes the song "Pavlov's Dogs" by the New Jersey hardcore punk band Rorschach to tremendous effect. The scene is a mix of dungeon setting, punishing noise and emotional mayhem, and its effects will hang with you long after the credits roll.
