Starting with Super Bowl XLV in 2011, the NFL opted for a permanent Super Bowl logo that would incorporate the Lombardi trophy for the first time ever. This design, which will only vary by adding a likeness of each venue and the name of the host city for the corresponding year, will be featured at this year's Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.
The permanent logo has its fans and critics, but it improves on many Super Bowl logos that came before it. The following ten logos are some of the most nonsensical, lazy, and altogether hideous logos to ever represent the prestigious annual event.
