Daylight Saving Time is a topic that comes into the forefront twice every year, when we move our clocks forward or backward, losing or gaining an hour in the middle of the night. The process started during World War I, when Germany used DST to help conserve coal during the war. It caught on with other countries, and has been repealed and re-started multiple times throughout history.
