Jim Carrey stars as Colonel Stars and Stripes in the ultraviolent sequel 'Kick-Ass 2,' but he took to Twitter to publicly apologize for the on-screen bloodshed. Speaking out as an anti-gun rights personality, Carrey regrets being involved with the film in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre of December 2012. Carrey tweeted, “I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence... I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.”
Carrey's bashing of his own film could put him in hot water with the studio and financial backers behind 'Kick-Ass 2,' but Jim isn't the only Hollywood star to ever trash his own movie.
