In Sumter, South Carolina, a 13-year-old boy named Cameron Simmons called the police after having a fight with his mother. Officer Gaetano Acerra went to investigate the situation and found a heartbreaking situation. Simmons was having back pain because he had to sleep on an air mattress that deflated overnight.
Acerra decided to make a difference and returned a few weeks later with a new bed, furniture, and even a video game system for the young teen. The officer told the news, "I did it because I could. It was the right thing to do and I think people should do things like this."
