Photos of the Apollo Moon Landing Sites

Satellite Captures Clear Evidence of NASA Apollo Missions 1 of 4

A NASA satellite orbiting the moon captured some of the clearest images ever taken of various landing sites on the moon. The robotic craft first reached the moon in 2009, and captured somewhat blurry photos at an orbit of of 30 to 60 miles out. The 2011 photos were taken at a lower altitude and clearly show a lot of evidence from Apollo missions 12, 14, and 17. The best images are of the Apollo 17 landing site, a mission that occurred in 1972.
