Are a swamp and a pond the same thing?

Swamp A pond is a body of standing water, either natural or man-made, that is usually smaller than a lake. A wide variety of man-made bodies of water are classified as ponds, including water gardens, water features and koi ponds. A swamp is a type of wetland characterized by relatively deep and widespread areas of water when compared to other wetland varieties, such as a marsh. Ponds are much smaller and in most cases, not the ecosystem that large swamps are. ChaCha anytime!
