The above answer is correct in stating that insects are indeed animals, since they're part of Kingdom Animalia. HOWEVER, it makes the mistake of classifying them with Amphibians and mammals; Insects are part of a different Phylum (arthropoda) while Amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals are part of Chordata. BIG difference.
