About Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico, which means “rich port,” is a US commonwealth located in the Caribbean Sea in between the Dominican Republic on the West and the British and US Virgin Islands on the East. Puerto Rico became territory of the US in 1898 after the Spanish-American War.
