Are penny auctions a scam?
Penny Auctions are websites that offer trendy luxury items for pennys of the original cost. People who join the sites bid on goods until a winner is announced. Many consumer watch groups believe these sites are nothing more than gambling sites. The sites say the auctions aren't gambling at all. Rather, they're a twist on retail sales. Most sites allow auction participants to have the option to buy the prize, even if they lose the auction. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
