Are primary elections in Texas nonpolitical?
Any political party whose candidate for Governor garnered at least 20 percent of the total votes, must nominate all its candidates via primary election. A political party whose candidate for Governor received at least two percent but less than 20 percent of the total votes, may nominate its candidates via either a primary election or a state convention.
