Can a 13 month old baby eat honey?

Topics: Food & Drink

Answer

Honey should be avoided from 4 to 12 months. Honey can harbor spores of Clostridium botulinum, causing botulism. An adult's intestinal tract can prevent the growth of the spores, but a baby's spores can grow & produce life-threatening toxins.
