Can a landlord make a rental deposit non refundable and what is the law code?
Section 5321.16 of the OH Landlord Tenant Act defines Security deposit procedures. A landlord cannot make the deposit non-refundable (however; pet deposits are typically non-refundable). Landlords can deduct damages to the property from the deposit.
