Miscarriage A miscarriage can be detected by an ultrasound in two ways. One, if the baby has not come out yet, but there is no heartbeat when the doctor does an ultrasound. Or, if you have been bleeding, when they do an ultrasound there is nothing left in your uterus. Miscarriage is the spontaneous end of a pregnancy, usually before 20 weeks. ChaCha!
