Can another planet support life as we know it?

Planet A new study suggests that a rocky alien planet named Gliese 581 d is capable of supporting life as we know it. Initially thought to be too far from the dim red dwarf star (Gliese 581) to be habitable, the planets large size (seven times bigger than earth) suggest it may have a thicker atmosphere causing a greenhouse effect that may be able to sustain water. Gliese 581d is about 20 light years away from Earth. Send another Q 4 ChaCha!
