Can cervical cancer be cured?
Most often, treatment for cervical cancer involves surgery and radiation therapy. Sometimes, chemotherapy or biological therapy is used. Surgery is local therapy to remove abnormal tissue near the cervix. So,it is curable but sad to say not all operations end up successful.

About Cancer
Cancer is defined as an uncontrolled growth of a group of cells in the body. It can have devastating affects. Some cancers are manageable and even curable, others are terminal. It all depends on the type and location of the tumors or cells. Cancer treatments vary from cancer to cancer. There is chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and a multitude of alternative treatments available. New drugs and treatments are being explored everyday through clinical trials in the United States and other countries.
About Radiation Therapy
Radiation Therapy or Radiotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses energy as particles or waves to kill cancer cells. It is done by machines that send these waves directly into the cancer cells or tumor externally but it can also be delivered internally by placing radio active substances inside your body. It destroys cancer cells and good cells but it is directed as close as possible away from good cells to avoid damage.
