Can degu's live in cage with a rat?
Degu's have unique bubbly personalities and are quite docile. They really do learn who the human is that takes care of them and they become quite attached. In captivity under ideal conditions they should live 12 or more years. ChaCha on!

Degu are small rat-like rodents native to Chile. They can get up to a foot long from tip to tail and way up to a pound. They have yellow-brown fur, with a cream colored belly and a long tail with a black tuft at the end. Degus are herbivores, the prefer grasses, shrub leaves and the occasional seed.
