Can somebody trademark a geographically descriptive mark like "new york coffee" for example?
You can trademark the name New York Coffee, but there are some pitfalls to trying to trademark a name that might be the result of someone else's work. If another restaurant or group of restaurants made the name New York Coffee well known, they could have a case against anyone trying to trademark the name. ChaCha on!
