Can someone get mononucleosis more than once?

Rate This Answer

Mononucleosis Sort of. If someone gets the Epstein Barr virus once usually seen as the 'official' pathogen behind mononucleosis then they won't get mono again from Epstein Barr, but there are a number of other viruses that cause similar illnesses and those tend to be called mono also. Some of the others are, adenovirus, Toxoplasma gondii, HIV, rubella, hepatitis A, human herpesvirus-6.
