Can weather balloons travel to space and then back down to earth?
Weather balloons may reach altitudes of 40 kilometers or more, limited by diminishing pressures causing the balloon to expand to such a degree that it disintegrates. This is not a sufficient altitude to reach outer space, which begins at an altitude around 100 kilometers.

About Space travel
Space travel is more or less when a human being travels outside of planet Earth. Space travel is accomplished by using a high-powered rocket that can break outside of Earths atmosphere and into space. Space travel is also the exploration of neighboring planets, stars, galaxies and anything else our universe consists of. Every space travel mission that the United States embarks in is controlled and operated by the NASA agency.
