Can you describe the advantages involved in expressing double displacement reactions with net ionic equations rather than with total ionic equations?
There is a belief among a lot of people studying chemistry that if you mix two soluble substances together a double displacement reaction always occurs. I see this frequently in this forum of Yahoo Answers.
