You can eat raw swordfish, but only if it's sashimi grade swordfish which is quite commonly served in Japanese restaurants. Raw swordfish can also be used in ceviche, though cutting raw swordfish is not recommended because it can ruin the texture of the fish. Barilla suggests an antipasto containing raw swordfish and oranges. The chance of mercury poision is very unlikely.
