Can you explain why communism seemed to pose a threat to capitalist nations?

Communism is basically the opposite of Capitalism. Capitalist nations enjoy their freedom, and Communist nations had very little, if any, freedom. In the 1950's and 1960's (also Vietnam war time), the US was afraid that if one little country became Communist that they all would, which made the US (Capitalist nation) feel threatened. ChaCha on!
