Fluoxetine is used to treat mental depression. It is also used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and panic disorder. Fluoxetine (Prozac), has no abuse potential, although there are some cases in which patients have experienced withdrawal effects when stopping taking this drug.
