Can you get a new iPhone without a data plan?
No. All iPhone 3G customers are required to have a data plan and qualifying voice plan. You may be able to get away with not having a data plan if you are able to jailbreak the phone. However hacking or tampering with the phone will void your warranty. Some sites claim that you can avoid the data plan buy paying the cancellation fee and adding the phone to another plan. I am pretty sure that a data plan is inevitable for the iPhone right now.
