The smallest free form in language is a word. Usually a word will include a stem or root, which may include one or more affixes. Sentences, phrases, and clauses are made up of words. Compound words are words consisting of two, or more stems joined together to form a compound. Words may be spoken, written, or sometimes used in an abstract form.
About People
People are, well, people, as the cliche saying goes. We are all people. The people of the United States, the people of Utah, the people of Chesterfield, Indiana, the people of football, working people, who care about other people and the people who spend way too much time playing video games are all people. Technically, grammatically speaking, people is the plural of person. It can also mean an ethnic or national group.
