Can you text 911?
911 is the number for emergencies, but it is currently only for voice calls, not text or pictures or movies. ChaCha On!

In short, no. There is a large amount of discussion as to whether or not it should be added to 911's service, but there are many locating problems that would be associated with texting.

No you can not text message nor can you call over your internet to 911 for help. ChaCha unlimited at 800-2ChaCha.

There have been discussions on setting up a system that allows you to text 9-1-1, but a plan has not been implemented yet.
