Can you use Wegener's hypothesis to explain how coal could be found id the deposits of coal have been found beneath the ice of Antarctica. But coal only forms in warm swamps?

Wegener suggested the continents couldn't have been in their current positions because the organisms would not have been able to travel across the oceans. Coal could have formed there before Antarctica was in its current icy location and condition!
