Software is anything that can be stored electronically. Software is something you can not touch. It is a program, an application, or some type of data that is stored onto a piece of Hardware. If you have a program you want to install onto your computer, then that is the software. The CD that the software comes on and the hard drive that you load it on is the hardware.
