Did peyton manning leave the colts?
Jim Irsay and Peyton Manning held a press conference on March 7, 2012 to announce that Manning would not be staying with the Indianapolis Colts. Irsay said that the number 18 jersey will never be worn again.

Peyton Manning is expected to part ways with the Colts during a news conference that will take place on March 7, 2012. In order to keep Manning around the Colts would have to pay him a $28 million bonus.

It was reported on March 6, 2012 that 4-time MVP Peyton Manning would be released from the Indianapolis Colts. Manning missed the entire 2011 season following 3 neck surgeries. Manning will become a free agent and intends to keep playing football.

He did have a second knee surgery last August, but I could not find any rumors of him leaving the Colts. ChaCha!

Peyton Manning has played with the Indianapolis Colts since he was drafted in 1998, and there is no talk of him leaving next year.
