Did Serena Williams know she had an autoimmune disease before going to US Open?
It is Venus Williams who had to withdraw from the 2011 U.S. Open due to her diagnosis of Sjogren's Syndrome. It appears that she likely knew about the condition but felt that she could still compete, and she looked quite strong in winning her first round match. She now is expected to take an extended period of time off to treat her illness. ChaCha on!
