Did the National Credit Corporation try to rescue troubled banks by using tax money?
No, the National Credit Corporation (NCC) did not use tax dollars. In 1931, Herbert Hoover urged the major banks in the country to form the NCC. Hoover encouraged NCC member banks to provide loans to smaller banks to prevent them from collapsing.
