Did the Puritans start Thanksgiving Day?
In the United States, the modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition traces its origins to a 1621 celebration at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. There is no mention if it was Puritans that started it, it was just a community gathering. ChaCha on!

About Puritans
The Puritans were a significant group of English Protestants who saw themselves as the last bastion of pure Christianity in the 16th and 17th centuries. In U.S. history, the Puritans migrated to New England from England (specifically James and Laud) in the two decades from 1620 to 1640 in hopes of religious utopia where they would be free to practice the Puritan religion. The term Great Migration usually refers to the migration of English settlers, primarily the Puritans to Massachusetts and the West Indies. This group of people were not pacifist, and they took part in the English Civil War and the Pequot War.
