Did Virginia fight for the Union or Confederate in the Civil War?
Virginia was a Confederate state during the Civil War and the Confederate capital was located in Richmond, Virginia. Many of the battles took place in Virgina in the war, since the Confederacy had to protect it's capital. ChaCha!
