Did we ever bomb the moon to look for water?
The AP reports that NASA's LCROSS mission has successfully bombed the moon in the quest to find water in space. The missile hit the lunar surface at the moon's South pole, an area scientists estimate may have billions of tons of trapped ice. ChaCha!

About Water on the Moon
Recent discoveries have led scientists to believe that, contrary to earlier theory, there actually is water on the moon. Water molecules have been found in pebbles picked up by NASA's Apollo missions.
