Do credit card companys send disputes to police?
If the credit card dispute is a result of credit card theft, a police report is needed to file the dispute in which case the issuing company would contact police. However, it's rare that a dispute between the cardholder and a merchant would involve police as it is considered a civil matter. Also, any fraud on the cardholders part is reported to the police.
