Turtles kept as pets require a range of foods from plants and animals to store-bought pellets.Vegetables can make up 1/2 the diet. Recommended veggies: romaine lettuce, shredded carrot, melons, apples, and berries that are finely chopped!

Wild turtles do not eat apples, but turtles that are kept in captivity love fruit. You can feed a captive turtle fruit in up to 10% of their diet, and apples are okay for turtles to eat.
