Do u need a 40 gallon terrarium for your tortois?
The smallest size tank (glass tank) that you should use for a tortoise is around a 75 gallon. This would allow for proper ventilation and room for the animal. You can also use a 50 to 75 gallon Rubbermaid container (don't use the lid), which is easier to clean and far lighter than glass (which is not recommended, as animal will bump into it).
