According to my references you do need to make an appointment to go to the DMV in California. The online appointment system does not offer appointments for commercial behind-the-wheel driving tests. Please call 1-800-777-0133, during normal business hours to speak with an agent to schedule a commercial behind-the-wheel driving test and other exams. -ChaCha again!
