Do you have to be a virgin to be a nun

Answer

Women who are not virgins can become a nun. You just need to be Catholic, female, unmarried, and sane. Thanks for ChaChaing!

No, you do not actually have to be a virgin to be a nun although it is preferred!

You do not. It's about the commitment of what you're going to do, not what you've done in the past. ChaCha!

While the Catholic church does frown upon it, a woman can become a nun if she is not a virgin (as long as she has not married).

You do not have to be a virgin to become a nun, but you do have to be chaste and unmarried. Thanks for using ChaCha!
