Do you have to show an ID to sign a birth certificate?

You fill out all the information at the hospital before your child even gets released. Both mother and father have to sign papers, and the actual birth certificate should arrive in the mail within 2 weeks of the baby's birth. You don't sign the actual certificate. You do not need ID as they would already have it. Thanks, ChaCha!
