Do you have to take the water pump off when change the timing belt in a 1998 Ford Escort?
It depends on where your timing belt is exactly at. If the timing belt is under the water pump, then yes you do have to take it off. If the timing belt can be reached from underneath the Ford Escort, with no problem, then you do not need to remove.
