Since 2007 all U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the US and Canada will now be required to present a valid passport. ChaCha.

Canada technically does not require a passport for US citizens arriving by plane to Canada, however, US requires one to get back.

If you go by air to Canada, you'll need a passport. If you go by land/sea, you'll only need a drivers license & birth certificate.
