About Hindu
Hinduism is the predominant religion of India, and is the oldest major religion in the world, predating even Buddhism and Judaism. It is formed from a plethora of religious traditions, lacking any single founder. The religion is built around the Vedic tradition, and the holy texts include the Vedas, Upanishads, Purana, Mahabharata, and Ramayana. These texts discuss theology, philosophy, and mythology. Because the tradition lacks uniformity, the concept of a deity varies, and includes monotheism, polytheism, pantheism, atheism, and gnosticism. Hinduism is the third largest religion in the world, behind Christianity and Islam.
